The Sweet Spot

The Sweet Spot

The Sweet Spot isn’t trying to be a subtle ice cream shop. Located at 32 St. George Street, directly across from the Colonial Quarter, this colorful downtown dessert stop specializes in the kind of treats that make kids stop in their tracks. There are around 40 ice cream flavors, but the real attention-grabbers are the extravagant milkshakes and sundaes.

The signature milkshakes turn dessert into an event. Depending on what you order, your shake might arrive topped with cheesecake, brownies, cotton candy, cookies, candy bars, churros, or miniature funnel cakes. They’re served in mason jars that guests can keep, making them as much a St. Augustine vacation photo opportunity as a dessert.

Because The Sweet Spot sits directly on pedestrian-friendly St. George Street, it’s an easy stop while exploring Historic Downtown. This is the place I’d point families toward when the kids aren’t asking for just a scoop of ice cream—they want the biggest, craziest dessert they can find.
